Underwater
World Singapore - This is one of great and Singapore's most popular
tourist
attractions. While we
would address our pets through personalized names, visitors to Underwater
World Singapore (UWS) will now be
able to do just that, with some members of the aquatic family! As part
of their continuing efforts to introduce more exciting and interactive
oceanarium experiences to their visitors, UWS has catalyzed the
integration of aquatic science and technology to introduce the Radio
Frequency Identification (RFID) System making them the world's first
oceanarium to do so. The RFID tag implanted in each fish will enable it
to be sensed by
antennas that are fitted on the front of the exhibition tank. When the
fish swims within detectable range, the RFID tag sends a signal to the
antenna, which then relays a signal to a touch screen computer.
Visitors interested in that kind of information are also able to
navigate through all the detailed
information about the fish including its name, diet and characteristics
by clicking on the appropriate icons on the computer screen. more>
The
Pharaonic Village Cairo - At the Pharaonic Village, visitors sail
on comfortable
motorized barges down a network of canals and view
incredibly accurate picture of ancient Egyptian life. Though the city
of
Cairo surrounds the island, not a trace of it penetrates the thick wall
of trees planted around the island. Sights include scenes of games,
industries,
arts, and other moments from history and legends. At the Pharaonic
Village you'll see faithful reproductions of
buildings, clothing and lifestyles, a complete replica of the tomb of
Tutankhamun and museums relating to different periods of Egyptian
history. You can also explore authentic exhibits and embark on an
adventure into the rich and exciting times of the Pharaohs and beyond.
Services such as
cafeterias,
boat rentals, a children's playground and a restaurant that serves both
Egyptian and European dishes help to make your stay even more
enjoyable. more>
