Liseberg
park is located in Gothenburg Sweden and today is one of Europe’s
leading
amusement parks & the largest in Scandinavia, attracting some 2.5
million
visitors annually.
Gothenburg is the second most important city of Sweden. The city
reflects the Dutch architecture throughout the city. Closely tied to
the sea, Gothenburg has an excellent arrangement of streets which are
laid out at the right angle to each other. A significant part of the
Dutch designing, Canals also form a network in the city. This Swedish
city is rich in historical heritages and modern attractions.
For children amusement parks are
there in different corners of the city Liseberg Amusement Park is one
of them.
Liseberg
park was opened in 1923 and today has something
for everyone, especially for children. Little ones will enjoy
attractions
like the Kiddie Bumpers and the Fairy Tale Castle. Teens can find their
favorites among FlumeRide, Höjdskräcken and other
hairraisers.
Balder was voted the world’s best wooden roller coaster by
enthusiasts
from all over the world.
Liseberg’s big attraction is
KANONEN! Kanonen is a ride where power, speed and acceleration are
taken
to extremes. You will reach a speed of 75 km /h in under three seconds
and you’ll immediately feel as though you’re being fired from a cannon.
Or, as one of test riders described it, “It’s like getting a massive
kick
up the backside!” “Kanonen
is the 1st attraction
of its kind in northern Europe, and Liseberg visitors who brave it are
sure to get a real adrenalin kick,” said Mats Wedin, CEO of
Liseberg.
A day at Liseberg uses up a lot of energy. A bite to eat and something
refreshing to drink are essential if you are going to last all day.
Fortunately you are never far away from the nearest restaurant or
café. The
menus feature everything from hot dogs and hamburgers to three-course
dinners served on crisp linen tablecloths. And there are always the
irresistible temptations of ice cream, candy floss and freshly baked
waffles.
Beyond the Theme Parks: Exploring Central
Florida (Hardcover) - Part tour guide and part
historical resource, this book will be useful
both to visitors and to residents, old and new, of central Florida.
Brotemarkle, an Orlando radio host, has won journalism awards for his
coverage of central Florida history and culture. His in-depth research
is immediately apparent, as is his plea for historic preservation.
Small historic towns that get only one paragraph in most travel guides
are each given a lengthy chapter here, complete with footnotes.
Appendixes include a complete listing of local arts groups, historic
sites in the region, and a calendar of annual arts and cultural
festivals.
Roller Coaster: Wooden and Steel Coasters,
Twisters and Corkscrews (Hardcover) - If you love roller
coasters, this is a great book. It has awsome pictures and some great
stuff about the history of the roller coaster. It is a couple years old
so of course it is missing several of the
latest and greatest coasters. Unfortunately it is all but impossible
for a coaster book to be update with the rapid additions and changes in
the coaster world.
