Candida overgrowth or Candidiasis is a serious health issue and can produce a wide range of symptoms. This yeast starts in digestive tract and is very often unrecognized until it become systemic, enter enter the blood stream and travel throughout the body.

Alarming number of people have Candida. This is usually due to the use of antibiotics, cortisone-type drugs and birth control pills. Candida can change its yeast form into a fungal form and create mycotoxins. In its fungal form Candida can grow long roots (rhizoids) that can puncture the intestinal lining and lead to a condition called Leaky Gut Syndrome. This condition will allow Candida and undigested food to pass through the holes in digestive tract and enter into the bloodstream. The body views them as foreign invaders and this can result in food allergies or sensitivities. When mycotoxins become abundant in our body, more serious and chronic conditions can develop. Some of the serious conditions are: Crohn’s disease, Diabetes, Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Multiple sclerosis, Lupus, Skin disorders, Fatigue etc. Your brother should talk to his doctor about Candida and request more information about it. Some doctors have little brochures about it.

You can get rid of Candida if you:

    1. Minimize use of antibiotics, steroids, suppressing drugs and oral contraceptives (consult your doctor before you do that).

    2. Cleanse your system with cleansing (anti-fungal herbs). Cleansing and proper diet changes are good steps to help you with balance of your inner eco-system.

    3. Increase fibre consumption in your diet. Fibre absorbs toxins and yeast, so they can be eliminated from the colon. Drink plenty of water with fibre to help cleansing (about 1/2 ounce of water per pound of your body weight). Avoid fruit juices and carbonated drinks.

    4. Use probiotics to re-establish good bacteria like acidophilus and bifidus in your intestinal tract.

    5. Change your diet to healthy one. Eliminate sugar, fermented and moldy foods, mushrooms, peanuts, fruit and dairy products. Eat plenty of lean proteins and raw vegetables.

    6. Use digestive enzymes to enhance digestion. Enzymes will break down sugar and carbohydrates which Candida uses as nourishment which helps to reduce its overgrowth.

    7. Exercise to improve circulation, deep breathing, and immune functions.
